My Wedding! YAY! | Monroe, WA

It is a SURREAL feeling to be blogging my own wedding. Our day was pure magic, and truly the best Covid wedding imaginable.

We faced all of the challenges and disruptions you might expect for a 2020 couple. I am sure if I really thought about it, my list would be a mile long…. but here’s a brief look at just a few of our changes; we downsized by 150+ people, moved to my parents house, revised rentals, & design plans, created multiple guest lists, updated our color palette, changed photographers, the list goes on….! With all of that being said, the most important thing for us was to be married surrounded by our family and best friends, and we made it happen. We sure did miss some of our favorite humans, and hope to celebrate with everyone in the future!

Moral of our story, DO THE DAMN THING! We are SO SO SO happy that we exchanged vows and celebrated our love during this dark and emotional year.

Being a vendor, the questions I was asked most were “are you doing your own flowers?” and “how did you choose your vendors?”

The first question “are you doing your own flowers?” was a bit harder to answer (HA!) my answer was always the same, “yes and no”. It was really important to me that our flowers felt like me, and I couldn’t imagine not having my hands on a few things! However, I am not completely crazy, so it was crucial that day of I didn’t do anythinggggg. My incredible team (led by Eleanor of Bash & Bloom) did design work leading up to our day and also lead styling and set up. I had been hoarding dried elements for months, so many of our bud vase centerpieces and hanging installations had been done for weeks just waiting for their debut. Our table styling, arch and other elements are 100% the work of my EXTREMELY talented team. When I saw our arch, I squealed - it was perfect.

Choosing vendors was a no brainer! They are the people who have become my work family and who I have built strong relationships and friendships with over the last 5 years. Our styles, interests, outlook on life and businesses very much run the same course, and honestly our day would not have been the same without them. See our incredible vendor list below. With their help and ideas, our day was picture perfect.

A special shoutout to my parents who put so much work in to their backyard to turn it in to our venue! I love you, thank you will never be enough.

Whidbey Island Elopement | The Inn at Langley, WA

Alex and Anna’s Whidbey Island elopement was so magical and intimate. Surrounded by their closest friends and family, Alex and Anna said “I Do” at The Inn at Langley followed by an AirBnb dinner. Their wedding plans may have changed due to COVID, but they really did make the best of their special day. With each pivot and revision, Alex + Anna were so kind and gracious, and I couldn’t have been happier to design their flowers. We used a variety of dried and seasonal flowers to bring their wedding day to life. Thank you again for working with me!

Bold Fall Wedding | Monroe

Early Fall weddings are some of my absolute favorites, and Alex and Matt’s is no exception. Dark moody colors, combined with vibrant Fall tones made their day unique and special. Alex described their vibe as “boho and a little witchy” — what more could you ask for just before Halloween? Local Dahlias, Amaranth, Chocolate Cosmos, dried Bracken Fern, Spiral Eucalyptus, Baccara Roses and Pampas Grass brought their wedding theme to life. Not to mention, the grounds at Pine Creek Nursery were filled with pumpkins, flowers and some AMAZING golden hour light captured by Kaitlin Evans!

Ruby Beach | Washington

Caitlin + Alexa’s Ruby Beach vow renewal always brings a smile to my face. Captured flawlessly by Henry Tieu, I can’t think of a better way to describe their love than a direct quote from him: “The way they found each other, the way they keep on supporting one another, the way they raise their family together, they showed me that marriage is not all about the sunshine and rainbows but it’s all about how you can dream together and how you can support each other to get there.” a true testament to love, commitment and what marriage stands for.

Grateful for this day and the opportunity to design their flowers. Cheers to 100 more years of love and happiness! See more from their day below and the feature on June Bug Weddings
